    Founded in 1987, the Romans Group has grown into a successful, multidisciplinary property services group. Such has been the growth of Romans in recent years, that we now employ over 450 people, at 28 locations across the South of England and Wales, and our staff work in a wide range of departments.

    Daniel Collis Senior Manager, Residential Sales

    Lettings Agency

    Our Lettings team has proven itself to be one of the region's finest; regularly claiming awards, with recent titles including Best Letting Agency in the South East 2015, and Best Letting Agency in the South East 2013, at the Estate Agency of the Year Awards.

    Lettings is a growing area – we annually let over 4,500 homes in the South East of England and provide a variety of services to landlords in the UK and overseas – which is why we regularly post employment opportunities for all levels.

    As experienced members of the Association of Residential Letting Agents (ARLA) we take the training of our new staff very seriously with qualifications and career development offered in roles such as Lettings Consultant, Lettings Coordinator and Property Management.

    Surveyors and Valuers

    Romans Surveyors and Valuers are approved valuers for the majority of UK lending institutions and advise clients on both residential and commercial property. We also undertake valuations for loan security purposes on all types of property throughout the South East of England and advise on the acquisition and disposal of commercial property.

    Rent reviews, lease renewals and the provision of expert evidence in valuation disputes are also in our remit, making this an interesting and engaging department to work in.

    Boyer are the Town Planning arm of the group, which has developed an enviable reputation for professional planning advice. Working from five regional offices extending across the southern half of the UK, from Cardiff in the west to Colchester in the east, we help clients to successfully negotiate the planning system in the development process, thereby avoiding unnecessary delays, costs and frustration.

    Land and New Homes

    This department monitors the progress of development proposals until the details are firmly established. Our highly experienced Land Agents search the region to identify sites with development potential, working alongside landowners, planners and architects to set up a suitable scheme.

    Working in close conjunction with Boyer and New Homes is vital for the successful delivery of projects, which in turn enables our staff to gain a detailed and varied knowledge of the property sector as part of their day-to-day role.

    Mortgage Services

    Our professional Financial Advisers arrange over 1,400 mortgages a year. In addition to providing a first-class independent mortgage advisory service to our customers.

    Romans Mortgage Services has a close relationship with the Mortgage Advice Bureau, one of the UK’s leading independent mortgage brokers enabling our advisers to search thousands of mortgage deals, some of which are exclusive to us to offer our clients. We also support employees that are new to the financial industry through MAB’s Academy programme..

    Top Referral Award

    The team has recently won the Mortgage Advice Bureau’s Top Referral award! Our excellent teams of mortgage advisers and estate agents work side by side supporting each other as well as our customers with their mortgage needs. In 2015 the teams produced over 6,000 leads for our advisers, making them the top overall referral business in the whole of the MAB network.

    Central Services

    Whilst property services are the core of our business, the company couldn’t work without our Central Service functions:

    Human Resources – Our HR department provide specialist advice and knowledge in recruitment, employment relations and staff development. Ensuring our employees feel well looked after and appreciated ensures that they are able to provide the best service possible for our customers.

    IT & Facilities – These teams provide support for all 28 offices plus Boyer’s regional offices. Facilities maintain the professional appearance by managing refurbishments and ensuring staff have a safe working environment, whilst IT provide high standards of service solving user problems, managing the IT helpdesk and maintaining IT systems.

    Marketing – Romans Marketing department provides a variety of materials and branding for all branches and divisions of the Romans Group. The team use targeted emails, billboards, newspaper adverts, radio, TV and digital channels to build the Romans brand and generate business for the company. Our marketing has received national recognition being awarded Best Marketing at the UK Estate Agency of the Year Awards 2012 in association with the Times and Sunday Times.

    Finance – The finance team manage the accounts of the group. This involves ensuring suppliers and employees are paid on time, managing the auditing process supporting decision making with financial information and the implantation of other monetary policies.
