Construction work nears completion at luxury housing development in Winkfield

Author: Tim Foreman

The transformation of a former industrial estate in Winkfield near Windsor into a luxury new homes development is almost complete.

The finishing touches are being made to the last property at Bloor Homes’ Mayfield Place development off Hatchet Lane, a development of seven detached family homes.

Construction work began on the site in November 2014 after planning consent was granted by Bracknell Forest Council.

The land was previously occupied by the Mayfield Light Industrial Estate, and prior to that was a farm.

Mayfield Place almost completeRichard Poulter, site manager for Bloor Homes at Mayfield Place, said: “We’re now entering the final stages of construction work at the site and the transformation has been absolutely remarkable. Where once stood unsightly industrial units, there is a beautiful collection of elegant homes, which are much more in keeping with the area.

“We have carefully designed the houses to ensure they complement their attractive rural surroundings, including building one property in the style of a traditional farmhouse and another in the style of a barnhouse conversion in recognition of the site’s farming heritage.

“We are now putting the finishing touches to the final plot at the development, which we aim to complete within the next few weeks. The site looks absolutely magnificent and I am sure the work we have done here will be appreciated by new residents and their neighbours alike.”

As part of the development, Bloor has contributed around £50,000 towards local services and infrastructure, including £14,000 for parks and open spaces, £4,690 for sports facilities and £30,310 towards nursery and primary education.

Kim Willcock, Regional Sales Director for Bloor Homes Southern, said: “With construction work coming to an end, now is the perfect time for people to visit our superb Mayfield Place development and see for themselves the luxurious lifestyle that these spacious five-bedroom homes have to offer.”

An open weekend will take place at Mayfield Place on 27th and 28th February, during which prospective purchasers can find out more about Bloor’s Home Exchange scheme.

Bloor’s sales team will be on hand to talk home-hunters through the process of using Home Exchange, and a mortgage broker and interior designer will also be attending the event to offer their advice and expertise.

The event will take place from 10am to 5pm on both days. For more information please call Romans, the selling agents, on 0333 9204 412 or email newhomes@romans.co.uk.
