22 properties to go under the hammer

The auction takes place on 28th April at 1.30pm at the Green Park Conference Centre in Reading, and features a great selection of residential and commercial properties from across Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire and Surrey.

“Our auctions always attract a fantastic array of properties, this particular sale includes sought after bungalows, a character cottage, several detached family homes and terraced properties, and some very interesting plots of land” comments Simon Clayton, Romans’ Auctions Director.

OMestead Road, Beechne particular property of note is a two bedroom bungalow on Medstead Road in Beech, occupying grounds totalling 0.8 of an acre, located in a secluded and elevated position. The house offers potential for further improvement and extension, subject to planning permission. Simon says: “With a guide of £500,000 this is a fantastic opportunity to buy a property that with some modernisation could make a beautiful family home.”

Close to Crowthorne village centre is an end of terrace character cottage requiring remedial work is also available, with a guide of £250,000. This charming two bedroom property benefits from a 150ft rear garden, driving parking and an en suite shower room and dressing room to the master bedroom.

There are two terraced properties being sold in Reading; one on Surrey Road which has been recently modernised and just needs minor finishing, with a guide of £210,000 and an estimated rental value of £1,100pcm, and one on Fernhurst Road, with a guide of £175,000. There is also a two bedroom ground floor garden flat in Reading, with a guide of just £155,000.

ORickford Hill Bungalows, Worplesdonffering good access to Woking and Guildford is a rarely available detached bungalow in Worplesdon, with a guide price of £270,000. “Positioned in a popular village location, this bungalow provides great potential for extension, subject to planning consent” comments Simon, “and with some modernisation could make a lovely home.”

There are four properties going under the hammer in Aldershot; a period detached house requiring renovation but providing great potential for extension on Lower Farnham Road, with a guide of £230,000; a substantial semi-detached property, previously used as a house of multiple occupation, on St. Michaels Road, with a guide of £350,000; a four storey, mixed use building on Upper Union Street, suitable for investment and part occupation, with a guide of £195,000; and a vacant commercial building on the High Street with planning consent for extension and conversion to provide two flats, with a guide of £125,000.

ASt. Michael's Road, Aldershotnother bungalow is being auctioned, located on St. Michaels Road in Sandhurst. The detached chalet property requires renovation but is located in a popular residential area, close to the centre of town, with a guide of £300,000.

An additional property of note is a semi-detached two bedroom house in a quiet cul-de-sac in central Cholsey, with potential for further extension, subject to planning permission being granted. The vacant property is close to the town centre and its location allows good access to Wallingford, Henley-on-Thames, Oxford and Reading.

“With a guide price of £230,000 and an estimated rental value of £1,000 pcm we’re experiencing a lot of interest in this property as it provides fantastic potential to modernise and increase in value” says Simon.

There are also opportunities to purchase plots of land; one freehold parcel of land between two residential properties is being sold in Wraysbury, as well as an area of woodland in Headley Down measuring approximately 2.8 acres and within easy reach of the A3, with guide prices of £50,000 and £25,000, respectively.
