Help to Buy event held in Camberley this weekend

Author: Tim Foreman

Homebuyers in Camberley can find out how they can buy a stylish new apartment with just a 5% deposit this weekend (Saturday 20th February). Award-winning Hodson Developments is hosting a Help to Buy event at its exclusive Viridium development on Frimley Road in Camberley this Saturday from 10am. The government–backed Help to Buy scheme has already helped thousands of people in the country buy a brand new home since its launch three years ago and the scheme has been taken up by many of the purchasers at the popular Camberley development.

Christie Alaimo, Sales Director for Hodson Developments, comments: “Help to Buy continues to be an enormous success, not just for homebuyers in Camberley but for tens of thousands of purchasers throughout the country. As well as only demanding a 5% deposit, the scheme means more affordable loan repayments as it provides access to lower interest rates than with a standard 95% mortgage. What’s more is that Help to Buy isn’t just a scheme for first time buyers, it’s available to any homebuyer looking to get a bigger property for less upfront cost.”

Help to Buy allows any homebuyer to buy a brand new home under the value of £600,000 with as little as a 5% deposit. The homebuyer receives a 20% interest-free equity loan from the government which, combined with the 5% deposit, allows them to gain access to more affordable interest rates available with a 75% mortgage.  The scheme makes buying a new home a much more affordable prospect and means that homebuyers at Viridium can buy a stylish new apartment with a deposit of just under £13,000.

Christie adds: “Just like many of our homebuyers have discovered, Help to Buy really makes the financial prospect of buying a brand new home, a much more affordable reality. Allowing buyers to get more for their money, as well as providing access to more affordable mortgage rates, it’s no wonder the scheme has been so widely used.

“On Saturday we are inviting anyone who wants to find out more about Help to Buy to come and speak to the experts. They will be able to speak confidentially to one of our financial experts and fully understand how the scheme can help them buy one of our apartments here with just a 5% deposit. Homebuyers will have the opportunity to ask any questions they like and see for themselves the quality of home they can afford to buy. We are expecting Saturday to be a busy event and so would advise anyone wishing to attend to get in touch to register their interest.”
