Romans bowl them over in Caversham
Romans in Caversham are supporting their local bowls club – and staff have discovered a brand new hobby!
The branch, which is located at 13 Bridge Street, has become the Caversham Bowls Club's main sponsor for the next 12 months. This includes sponsorship for the club's Gala Day this summer (with the branch donating £250 for prizes and the gala cup), printing the club's fixture lists, and promoting the club's weekly open sessions, held on Friday evenings 6-9pm at the club's grounds in Albert Road Park, Caversham.
Caversham Lettings Manager Matthew Hembra, Regional Lettings Director John Sumner, Director (Reading region) Jon Roberts and other Romans employees have shown their support by going along to the open sessions and trying their hand at bowls.
"It's a very addictive sport and we didn't realize just how much skill is needed to bowl accurately!" says John Sumner. "But we have had a great time learning more about it, and can definitely recommend bowls as a fun and sociable activity."
"The Club is very grateful for the sponsorship and enthusiastic support we've received from Romans," says Sue Reeves, Caversham Bowls Club representative."It's very encouraging to see a local business making such positive links with its community."
