The history of Romans
In 1987, we opened our first office in Bracknell with nothing but a typewriter and rolodex. In 2016 we joined forces with our sister company Leaders, and since then more respected brands have joined forces with us so now we have a combined UK network of over 250 estate and lettings branches!

Environmental
One of the key areas that we are heavily invested in is sustainability and our impact on the environment. We're proud to say we have been carbon neutral since 2022, reaching our target 8 years early. Social
At Romans, we want our staff to feel like they can enjoy a long-term career. We have an extensive list of in-house training courses, and we also provide career frameworks. It’s of the utmost importance to us that equality, diversity, and inclusion are at the forefront of everyone’s minds, and we have an internal training course on this which all staff have to take. Achievements and promotions are celebrated all year round, including our quarterly awards ceremonies.
Not only do we aim to help and support each other, but also the wider community. From 2022-2024, teams across the business fundraised in different ways with a total of £36,019.96 donated to MacMillan Cancer Support.
Governance
We take the management of our customers data very seriously and protect it via robust data protection policies. We have a strong data protection team in place headed up by our own in-house Data Protection Officer.
Regulations in the property industry are ever-changing. We proactively keep on top of these, not only to ensure we can prepare but to make sure we can help our clients prepare and be compliant too.

We have an apartment in The Loftings in Maidenhead, currently rented and managed by Romans. Having it managed by the Romans agency is very important for us to keep up to date with the changes in regulations and have a contractor for various fixes when needed in the property. Ms Hayley McPhail in the Romans Maidenhead agency has been outstanding so far in addressing all our queries, finding a contractor when required for various fixes, and chasing them for the work to be done on time and in line with the regulations. We're very happy working with Romans to manage our rental property. This simply helps me save serious time dealing with contractors and having all fixes done on time. Our tenants are also happy to get all their queries or issues addressed by Romans on time instead of pinging me every time. Ms Hayley McPhail has been playing a pivotal role in keeping both parties (tenants and landlord) happy throughout the entire tenancy period.
